Augusta

Program Description

This country-like setting is minutes away from Maine’s capital. This three-bedroom home offers a residential care setting and instructional support for gaining independence in activities of daily living. This is a comprehensive program focused on the normalization of life activities and tasks in a safe environment for men and women challenged by a chronic mental illness.

The house staff is responsible for maintaining a normalized, home-like environment in which residents gain skills to be independent in all activities of daily living, and participate actively in appropriate recreational and leisure time activities to improve peer relationships and social skills. In addition, the staff is responsible for keeping residents safe while overseeing medication administration and nutritional needs. Under the direction of clinical staff, the residential staff will implement formal treatment plans, observe compliance, and report outcomes.

Consumers are staffed 24-7 with 2 staff on during peak awake hours and one overnight awake staff to ensure a safe environment as well as provide opportunities for community-based activities and involvement.

This property offers many opportunities to consumers interested in gardening, hiking, horticulture, and photography. Residents in this home are busy in an active community.
