Auburn

Program Description

Auburn

The Drummond Street home is located in the city of Auburn within walking distance of a grocery store, bank, several churches, a library, and public transportation. The location is perfect for consumers that want to be active and have a level of independence. The home is designed for four individuals with a primary diagnosis of intellectual/developmental disabilities but may have co-occurring symptoms of mental illness. The home is designed with four individual apartments. Consumers are staffed 24-7 with 2 to 3 staff during peak awake hours and one overnight awake staff.

Consumers in this home need to be able to function without constant staff presence. The direct care staff in this home assists consumers to gain more independence in their apartments as well as in the community. Staff may assist with medication management, cooking, grocery shopping, cleaning, and organizing, as well as coordinating outside service provider appointments. Consumers have a lot of potential for active, productive lives. There is a great opportunity for volunteerism and employment.
